Project Description.

Located in the high-end furniture cluster of Altavista in Mexico City, the project called for a refurbishment of an existing house that had transformed organically over the years into a purpose-built office furniture exhibition facility.

We aimed to match the aesthetics of the brand, clean lines, industrial feel and maximum functionality, no compromise between design and performance.

Our approach was to open up the space by replacing the load bearing walls with steel portals allowing for maximum flexibility in the arrangement of the display. We opened up two atriums at the front and back of the building to generate air circulation flow and a sense of airiness and spaciousness. The front atrium houses a feature spiral staircase connecting all levels, a big gesture to draw people in, while the back atrium boasts a 6 meter tall green wall.

The building was increased in height from 2 to 3 levels and preparations were in place for a future expansion to the maximum allowed 4 levels. The top of the building features a roof terrace with outdoors furniture crowned by a pergola.
